Windows 11 23H2 Upgrade using SCCM | ConfigMgr

In this article, we will demonstrate the steps to perform a Windows 11 23H2 upgrade using SCCM. We will use Windows Servicing in ConfigMgr to upgrade Windows 11 devices to version 23H2 via the enablement package. Microsoft released Windows 11, version 23H2, which is also known as the Windows 11 2023 update. As per the Microsoft article, Windows 11, version 23H2, is a scoped, cumulative release, meaning that it contains all the recently announced features as well as some new enhancements. Windows 11 23H2 is an enablement package, and this makes it easier to deploy it with ConfigMgr. If you remember, Windows 10 22H2 was also released as an enablement package. The enablement package is a great option for installing a scoped feature update, as it enables an update from version 22H2 to version 23H2 with a single restart, reducing update downtime. In this article, we will use the Configuration Manager feature update option to deploy the Windows 11 23H2 enablement package. We believe this is

Turn On or Off Efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge

Discover different methods to manage efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge browser. In this tutorial, I will show you how to enable or disable Efficiency Mode in Microsoft Edge for all users. The efficiency mode in the Edge browser helps extend battery life by saving computer resources, and it can be turned off if this feature is affecting your work. On Windows 11, the Edge browser comes preinstalled. By default, efficiency mode is enabled for devices with a battery and disabled otherwise. Efficiency mode will become active when your device is unplugged and will remain active until your device is connected to power or your laptop runs out of battery. Optionally, you can also display the performance button on toolbar in Microsoft Edge. Edge users using Windows 11/10 can disable the efficiency mode on demand if they don’t intend to use this feature. Another option that Microsoft recommends is to exclude a site from efficiency mode by adding it to a block list in Settings. https://themasterg

How to Renew Secret keys in SCCM console

Learn how to renew the Entra app's secret key using Configuration Manager console. While working in my SCCM lab recently, I realised the secret key for one of my Entra App registrations was expired. I received a console notification with the following message: “One or more Entra app secrets used by Cloud Services have expired. Renew to avoid service disruptions.” Configuration Manager allows you to renew the secret key for an Entra app with a few easy steps. You can also renew client secrets for apps in the Microsoft Entra admin center, which I will cover in a separate guide. https://forum.webgod.ro/showthread.php?tid=612 https://forum.ordcom.fr/showthread.php?tid=916 https://forum.21up.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=162 http://a123.woobi.co.kr/thread-6072.html https://elymbmx.com/mybb/showthread.php?tid=9052 https://forum.l2endless.com/showthread.php?tid=2827 https://www.thewbs.net/pages/forums/showthread.php?tid=1976&pid=7440#pid7440 You must renew the Microsoft Entra app’s secret

Bitwarden App Deployment using Intune: Easy Guide

A complete guide to deploying Bitwarden password manager using Microsoft Intune. In this guide, I will show you how to perform Bitwarden app deployment using Intune. On Intune-managed devices, you can deploy Bitwarden password manager either from the new Microsoft Store or as a Win32 app. The Bitwarden password manager lets you securely generate, store, and share passwords from any location, browser, or device. To secure the passwords, it uses an advanced AES-256 encryption cipher, which is known for its unbreakable security. If you are still on LastPass and want to move all your data to Bitwarden, I have published a detailed guide on migrating from LastPass to Bitwarden. Bitwarden also offers enterprise licensing plans for businesses to provide advanced capabilities for larger organizations. The Bitwarden app deployment in your enterprise can be done using Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, ConfigMgr, and other tools. This guide, however, focuses on using Microsoft Intune to install the

Configuration Manager Technical Preview 2311 New Features

Microsoft has released Configuration Manager technical preview 2311. The new features include folder support for scripts in the software library, Arm64 operating system deployment, and a dashboard for troubleshooting software update issues. After the release of technical preview 2307, Microsoft skipped the releases of technical preview 2308, 2309, and 2310. That’’ because, as per the new SCCM release cadence, there will be only four ConfigMgr Technical Preview (TP) releases per year.  One technical preview release will serve as a baseline release, and two will be made available before each current production branch release. If you are running the previously released technical preview 2307 in your ConfigMgr lab, you can directly upgrade to SCCM TP version 2311 via updates and servicing. If your technical preview lab is expired, you must rebuild it to install TP 2311. In this article, we’ll go over the steps to install the SCCM technical preview 2311 and go through the new features inclu

Import and Export Settings Catalog Policies in Intune

Disable Printer Sharing on macOS using Intune Policy

A guide to turn off the printer sharing on Mac devices using Microsoft Intune. In this post, I will show you how to disable printer sharing on macOS using Intune policy. Using a DisablePrinterSharing.zsh shell script, you can turn off the macOS printer sharing feature via Microsoft Intune. When you enable printer sharing on a Mac, it is set up as a print server to accept print jobs from other computers. Apple recommends using a dedicated print server or direct IP printing instead of printer sharing. An organization recently approached me about stopping Mac users from enabling and using the printer sharing feature. Thankfully, the Mac devices in the enterprise were enrolled in Intune. However, they couldn’t locate a setting to turn off printer sharing for Mac in the settings catalog. When I did some research, I discovered that there is no option to disable printer sharing for Mac devices in the settings catalog. So, I had to either use a script or a custom template to get this done. Tha

If you have a set of macOS devices that you no longer require, you can unenroll them from Intune, but this must be done with a procedure. Once a macOS device is removed from Intune, it loses access to company portal features such as apps, files, email, company resources, etc. A company portal app is required to unenroll a macOS device in Intune. Fix: A Requested Power Operation is Already in Progress

While installing Windows 11 on a VM, I encountered the error “A Requested Power Operation is Already in Progress.” In this guide, I will explain why you get this error and the steps to resolve it. Setting up a virtual machine is a simple process and typically takes around 20–25 minutes.
